When we talk about hemp there are two oils you see these days and it can be confusing what the difference is. Hemp seed oil or hemp oil and CBD oil. Let’s start with hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil also known as Hemp oil has been around for many years, you may have seen it in the health food stores. Hemp seed oil is a perfectly good seed oil that's high in antioxidants, omega-3 and -6 fatty acids, but contains no CBD.
CBD oil does not come from the seed and is derived from mostly the flowers and other parts of the plant which need to be extracted out of it by a different process usually ethanol or CO2. CBD oil is a natural occurring chemical compound where the THC is less than .03% and does not give any psychoactive effects, including terpenes that the body responds to more immediately (the entourage effect)(1), including promoting healing for inflammation, digestion, anxiety, focusing, skin healing and much more as research develops.
